This is the 034Motorsport B8 S4 Transmission Mount Insert, a ridiculously easy mod you can do to help improve drivetrain stiffness and feel, without adding any noise, vibration or harshness (NVH). I bought one for my car, and I’m really impressed. Here’s the install, and my thoughts.
Seriously, installing it is as easy as removing the two stock M10 spline (triple square) bolts, sliding the insert in, then sticking the original bolts back in and tightening to 20nm. That’s it. For your 5 minutes of work, you get a better driving feel with less motion of the gearbox and engine, and no jolting as you come to a stop. It’s not the cheapest thing in the world, but for a chunk of billet aluminium it’s well worth it. If you’ve got an S4, consider getting this.
