BMW have been slowly growing the size of their “Kidney Grilles” on the front of their cars over the years, and the new generation of the M4 seems to be taking that to the extreme. Both the M4 and the M4 GT3 they showcases at the Redbull Ring this week have absolutely massive grilles that are sure to devide opinions.
The good news though, is that they’ve also outlined some of the upcomming M4’s specs, including that we will get a Competition version with 503hp, and the standard 2021 M4 will have an increase 473hp and 442 lbs-ft of torque.
Interestingly, the standard M4 will apparently come as standard with a 6 speed manual, with the M4 Competition using the same ZF 8HP you can find in the current M5 Competition which is an 8 speed torque-converter automatic.
The new M4 will still feature an inline 6 cylinder engine, although a “high-revving” design, and twin turbochargers. Add that all together and you should have a pretty impressive sports coupe with likely a 0-60 of under 4 seconds. Sounds exciting, what do you think?
