I really need to flush my car’s brakes. I’ve got a pretty spongy pedal, and I’m not sure the system has been flushed in the last… well… 5 years? Maybe more. There’s probably a fair bit of water content, so lets crack out the bleeding kit and get it done.
This one is a little more chill, you are coming along for the journey of bleeding each wheel. The process is pretty simple, jack up the car starting with the wheel furthest from the ABS pump. Take the wheel off, find the bleed nipple and remove the cover. Crack it loose, then stick the bleeder hose over the top, have your ‘assistant’ pump up the pedal then briefly open the bleed nipple then close it back up. Pump and hold, crack open, shut, repeat. Don’t forget to top off the DOT 4 in the reservoir! Repeat for the other 3 corners and huzzah, you are done bleeding!
