My 2013 Audi S4 (B8.5) always feels insanely fast on the road, but now I’ve got my hands on a RaceBox I can finally test just how fast it really is. My car has stock power (333PS), with it’s stock claimed figures looking like this:
- 0-60 mph – 4.9 seconds
- 0-100 kph – 5.2 seconds
- Quarter miles – 14.4 seconds at 111mph
Now, I won’t be testing that last one on public roads for obvious reasons, but I know a quiet stretch of straight, flat road where I can test the first two, so lets do that. To get my racing driver excuses in now, the car was almost entirely full of fuel, the 1ft rollout setting on the RaceBox was disabled so it’s a true 0-60 time, and my specific car is now 8 years old so it might have lost a pony or two in that time. Ok, that’ll do, what are the results?
Real world times
- 0-60 mph – 5.28 seconds
- 0-100 kph – 5.57 seconds
- 60-0 mph – 2.67 seconds / 108 ft / 32.9 meters
So, it’s about 0.4 seconds slower that the factory numbers. For 8 years and a full tank of fuel that’s not bad. Now I’ve got a reference, if (lets face it, when…) I stage 1 remap it we can see exactly how much of an improvement that offers.
