Should you be buying a cheap £30 Halfords trolley jack, or splash out on a £140 Draper one? In this video, I walk you through the differences, the use case for both, and give you an idea which might be best for you.

The long and short of it, is if you find yourself on your back, under cars on a weekly basis you really should get the “Pro” tool. It’s convenience, ease of use, added safety and legitimate load rating makes it so much more useful if you work on cars regularly. If you are just doing an oil change a year and some brake pads once every few years, the cheaper £30 Halfords set is more than plenty. It’s certainly an upgrade from the lethal jacks that come with some cars and makes for a perfectly servicable tool, if not the most fancy.

I have a passion for cars, driving, working on them and talking about them. Anything fast or electric, is fair game. Own an Audi S4 B8.5 & an SV650S.
